We are launching a Neighborhood Watch to help keep Pocalla Springs safe, connected and welcoming. The Sumter Police Department will provide an official Neighborhood Watch training session (date and time to be announced) so everyone is properly trained on how to observe and report.
Who can join
Homeowners only.
Participation requirements
- All team members must attend the Sumter Police Department training.
- At the end of training, volunteers who wish to serve must sign an agreement to follow the department’s best practices.
- This is security awareness, not policing: observe, report and respect privacy.
What the team will do
- Stay observant and report appropriately: 911 for emergencies, non-emergency lines or the HOA for concerns.
- Coordinate with law enforcement on best practices.
- Share safety tips and neighborhood updates.
- Organize optional visibility walks and “porch light” nights.
