Any homeowners in Pocalla Springs (whether physically living here or living elsewhere) are welcome to join this group. When you request to join, please answer the questions so we can verify you are a homeowner. Renters are welcome to join the other neighborhood page. Neighborhood Watch Team Forming
Police Training Required
We’re launching a Neighborhood Watch to help keep Pocalla Springs safe, connected, and welcoming. The Sumter Police Department will provide an official Neighborhood Watch training session (date/time TBA) so everyone is properly trained on how to observe and report.
Who can join?- Homeowners only
Participation requirements
- All team members must attend the SPD training
• At the end of training, volunteers who wish to serve must sign an agreement to follow the Sumter Police Department’s best practices- This is security awareness—not policing: observe, report, and respect privacy
What the team will do:
- Stay observant and report appropriately (911 for emergencies; non-emergency lines/HOA for concerns)
- Coordinate with law enforcement on best practices.
- • Share safety tips and neighborhood updates
- Organize optional visibility walks/“porch light” nights
